Jennifer is an experienced workplace investigator, mediator, and trainer. By applying her knowledge of human rights, health and safety, and employment law, and her industry experience, Jennifer conducts neutral, expedient, and thorough human rights and other workplace investigations (such as psychological harassment, workplace bullying, and misconduct) and provides detailed and reliable reports. She encourages confidentiality and treats participants fairly and with respect.
Jennifer also advises workplaces on conducting effective internal investigations. She offers training in investigations, maintaining a harassment- and violence-free workplace, and school bullying prevention. She enjoys reviewing, assessing, drafting, and revising workplace policies so that they are clear, compliant, and concise.
From 1992-2000, Jennifer practiced with a large Toronto labour and employment law firm as a student and associate, where she developed a passion for respectful workplace matters.
In 1998, she co-authored “An Educator’s Guide to Human Rights”, published by Canada Law Book (2nd ed. 2009). Jennifer has written several articles for Lancaster House publications and sat on workshop panels at several Lancaster House/University of Toronto seminars, including an “Investigating Workplace Harassment” workshop. She also led Lancaster House’s “Dealing with Harassment and Discrimination Complaints – Prevention, Investigation and Response” workshop.
Since 2000, Jennifer’s practice has focused on the proactive and compassionate resolution of internal workplace human rights, psychological harassment, workplace bullying, and violence concerns through mediation, investigation, policy drafting/review, and workplace training. Her clients include a broad range of public and private sector workplaces, both unionized and non-unionized.
